Hopkins Report
I matched a few people via YDNA on Family Tree DNA. YDNA is only passed from father to son, so my YDNA came directly from our Hopkins ancestors (as did theirs). One of my matches, Brian Hopkins tracked his line back to Scotland. His ancestors immigrated to New Zealand in the 1870s. Another match was the illegitimate son of a Hopkins. His mother met a Hopkins in Scotland, got pregnant and then moved to England. They did not keep in touch. A third match, Joe Lake of the Delaware Hopkins, recently hired a genealogist in Scotland to track back Brian’s line and try to identify the Illegitimate line since they were verifiably tracked back to the Scotland.
